Michael Dell - Bella Voce
Accompanist -
A native of Jacksonville, Michael Dell received his Bachelor of
Church Music degree at Stetson University in Deland, Florida,
and his Master of Church Music degree at Southwestern
Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. Continued educational
opportunities include a five week residency with Dr. Gerre
Hancock at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, New York City, for an
intensive study of organ improvisation, service playing, liturgy
and choral conducting. Locally, Michael has performed with the
Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra and has presented organ solos on
the Casavant organ in Jacoby Hall. In addition to giving local
organ recitals, Mr. Dell’s performances include St. Thomas
Church, New York City, Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church in Fort
Lauderdale, Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, California and
the International Church Music Festival in Bern, Switzerland. He
has served as Dean of the Jacksonville chapter of the American
Guild of Organists. He enjoys composing and arranging music, and
has several published organ settings. He also has a published
hymn text in the 1991 Baptist Hymnal, and is frequently
commissioned to write texts for special occasions. Michael has
also served as Director of the Friday Musicale Chorus for
several seasons. Michael is the director of the Don Thompson
Chorale. Michael’s piano skills and ability to improvise are
equal to his fine organ playing. He brings a wonderful, new
dimension to Bella Voce performances. |
